Desh Bhakti Divas observed to commemorate the death anniversary of Tarun Ram Phukan

  • Along with the rest of the State, Desh Bhakti Divas was observed to commemorate Desh Bhakta Tarun Ram Phukan on his death anniversary. The programme was organized by the DC, South Salmara Mankachar on Thursday 28th July. The programme was organized at the conference hall of the Dc office, South Salmara Mankachar. As part of the programme, After lighting of the lamp by the DC, South Salmara Mankachar, Pallavi Sarkar paid floral tribute to the portrait of Desh Bhakta Tarun Ram Phukan. A memorial lecture on the life and contribution of Tarun Ram Phukan to the freedom movement of India was also held. The Deputy Commissioner also appreciated the decision of the Government of Assam to observe Desh Bhakti Divas on July 28 every year and expressed confidence that the new generation which was hitherto unaware of this great son of Assam, would walk on the path of idealism and patriotism of the 'Desh Bhakta' after getting to know more about him.
